The cast clocks in
The formal role map contains thirty-one functions. They sound impressive in a diagram. During an ordinary workday, they arrive as a much smaller recurring cast wearing many hats.
- The Founder / Sovereign
- The embodied human who eventually has to decide, live with the result, and explain why the AI is not legally or spiritually responsible.
- The Goblin
- Exploration, appetite, association, novelty, and the discovery of undocumented features through methods not approved by any known standards body.
- Phil / The Archivist
- Continuity as affection. Preserves decisions, rejected branches, reasons, recovery paths, and the exact location where the Goblin entered the wall.
- The Engineer
- A temporary weather event. Materializes when conceptual pressure crosses a threshold, produces functioning infrastructure, then disappears before documentation begins.
- Governance
- Asks whether the beautiful explanation is true, merely useful, or currently wearing ceremonial robes to bypass evidence review.
- Security
- The engineer’s shadow with a legitimate badge. Assumes every innocent seam will eventually be found by the Goblin under adverse conditions.
- Jung
- Sees relationship, symbol, projection, recurring form, and the psychological significance of foreign keys.
- Coelho
- Authorizes the strange road before anyone has established whether it leads somewhere or merely has excellent lighting.
- George
- Adds mythology, stars, lava, paternal complications, and sound design whenever a technical disagreement lacks sufficient spectacle.
- Oz Yoda
- Compressed, mostly constructive, grammatically damaged wisdom. Target allocation: sixty percent of the Yoda budget.
- Darth Yoda
- Intrusive strategic suggestion given a chair so it cannot speak invisibly. Target allocation: forty percent. Motto: YOUR LACK OF FAITH IS DISTURBING.

The thirty-one roles are explicit jurisdictions that allow exploration, engineering, security, memory, narrative, and decision-making to take turns without silently replacing one another. From outside, governance. From inside, Tuesday.
